Henry Grady Almand, A.B.
Sigma Nu Fraternity; D. V. S.; University School
Alumni Club; Commencement Speaker, 1904;
Relay Runner, 1906; Track Team, 1907.
Almand entered the Freshman Class in the
spring of 191)4. At that time Grady was a
young and frolicsome lad in knee trousers, and
still, despite the lapse of nearly four years of
arduous college labors, the fount of his exuber¬
ant, juvenile liveliness is not yet completely
exhausted. After being in college a while, he
desponded of ever being able to hold up under
his work, and consulted his brother John, for
advice. John informed him that he need not
expect to do the work of a man in the garb of
a boy. Grady's astute judgment easily recog¬
nized the wisdom of his brother's advice, and,
acting thereon, donned long trousers, and to
his ineffable joy, found his burden reduced to
a bubble, which he has been gleefully blowing
about ever since.
