The Act of Consecration. L. M.
[ From the French ]
I Come, Saviour, Jesus, from above !
Assist nie with thy heavenly grace;
Empty my heart of earthly love.
And for thyself prepare the place.
2 Ci let thv sacred presence fill,
And set my longing spirit free,
Which pants to have no other will,
But day and night to feast on thee.
3 While in this region here below,
No other g.....1 will I pursue;
I'll bifl this world of noise and show,
With all its glitt'ring snares, adieu !
4 That path with humble speed I'll seek
In which my Saviour's footsteps shine,
Nor will I hear nor will I speak
( )f any other love but thine.
5 Ib-nceforth may no profane delight
Divide this consecrated soul;
I'n--ess it, thou, who hast the right,
As Lord and Master of the whole.
J. Hesley.

There Remaineth therefore a Rest to the People
of God. Heb. iv. 9.
I Come, O thou greater than our heart,
And make thy faithful mercies known ;
The mind which was in thee impart;
Thy constant mind in us be shown.
2 O let us by thy cross abide,
Thee, only thee, resolved to know,
The Lamb for sinners crucified,
A world to save from endless woe.
3 Take us into thy people's rest,
And we from our own works shall cease;
With thy meek Spirit arm our breast,
And keep our minds in perfect peace.
4 Jesus, for this we calmly wait;
O let our eyes behold thee near!
Hasten to make our heaven complete:
Appear, our glorious God, appear!

Christ All in All.

I Holy, and true, and righteous Lord,
I wait to prove thy perfect will:
Be mindful of thy gracious word,
And stamp me with thy Spirit's seal.
2 Open my faith's interior eye :
I )isplay thy glory from above ;
And all 1 am shall sink and die,
Lost in astonishment and love.
3 Confound, o'erpower me by thy grace,
I would be by myself abhorred;
All might, all majesty, all praise,
All glory, be to Christ my Lord.
4 Now let me gain perfection's height;
Now let me into nothing fall.
As less than nothing in thy sight.
And feel that Christ is all in all.
Charles Wesley.
