YI.VANl'S B. POND, 1835.
I. Come, let us lift our joy - ful eyes Up to the court
a bove, And
our ha - ther there, Up
throne of love.
Access to God by a Mediator. C. M.
I Come, let us lift our jovful eyes
Up to the courts above,
And smile to see our Father there,
Upon a throne of love.
2 Come, let us bow before his feet,
And venture near the Lord;
No fiery cherub guards his seat,
Xor double-flaming sword.
3 The peaceful gates of heavenly bliss
Are opened by the Son;
High let us raise our notes of praise,
And reach th' almighty throne.
4 To thee ten thousand thanks we bring,
Great Advocate on high,
And glory to th' eternal King,
Who lays his anger by.
38 The Hope of Heaven. Col. nil. CM.
I How happy ev'ry child of grace,
Who knows his sins forgiv'n !
This earth, he cries, is not my place,
I seek my place in heav'n :
2 A country far from mortal sight;
Yet, O! by faith I see
The land of rest, the saints' delight,
The heav'n prepared for me.
3 O what a blessed hope is ours!
While here on earth we stay.
We more than taste the heav'nly pow'rs,
And antedate that day;
4 We feel the resurrection near,
Our life in Christ conceal'd,
And with his glorious presence here
Our earthen vessels fill'd.
5 O would he more of heav'n bestow!
And when the vessels break,
Our ransom'd spirits then shall go,
To grasp the God we seek:
6 In rapt'rous awe on him I'll gaze,
Who bought the sight for me.
And shout and wonder at his grace
Through all eternity.
30 Walking in the ways of Christ. C. M.
Dent. v. 30-33.
I Happy the souls to Jesus join'd,
And sav'd by grace alone :
Walking in all his ways, they find
Their heaven on earth begun.
2 The church triumphant in thy love,
Their mighty joys we know;
They sing the Lamb in hymns above,
And we in hymns below.
3 Thee, in thy glorious realm, they praise
And bow before thy throne!
We in the kingdom of thy grace,
The kingdoms are but one.
4 The holy to the holiest leads,
From thence our spirits rise;
And he that in thy statutes treads,
Shall meet thee in the skies.
